This week, the University of California at San Francisco's (UCF) Translational Psychedelic Research Program and psychedelic drug development company Filament were given FDA approval for their first-ever clinical trial to test psilocin. This is the molecule that results from your body metabolizing psilocybin, the main psycho-active substance in magic mushrooms.

First trial

Filament recently announced that it has developed a way to extract psilocin, which can lead to faster-acting treatments and fewer side effects. The first trial will involve 20 people. They'll report back their experiences in two months time so we might learn more then!
